My mother’s uncle died last month, and he was more of a father to her then her own father and NO ONE on her side of the family had the fucking decency to let her know about it until a MONTH had gone by. After everything is over and done with then we’ll get a letter or a phone call, all OH WELL we tried to reach you, did you change your number? We even sent emails. No. No you fucking did not. And this isn’t the first time. There is a reason that when people ask about my extended family that I say I don’t have one. Because families don’t treat each other this way. Both my parents come from verbally/physically abusive families, and I’m really proud of them for not have more issues then they have, so I never feel bad about not having grandparents or aunt or uncles because of this shit right here. So fuck em. No one needs people like that.
